So far in our “Electrical Industry Tradeshow Tips” series, we’ve shared 15 pre-show preparation tips and eight tips to maximize your experience during the show. We’re wrapping up the series today with five post-show tips:
- Follow up! This is the single most important thing to maximizing your experience at the show. (For example, email a thank you to everyone who stopped by the booth.)
- Provide links to all products and service discussed at the show, as well as ways to stay connected – Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, your company blog, etc. – to all new contacts.
- Meet with sales, and regional, reps to discuss hot leads, and next steps for follow up. I find it best to separate the contacts by region, then ask reps to follow up within two weeks. Also, send reminders to the sales team when following up.
- Send details, successes and hot leads from the show to the entire company, to keep everyone in the loop.
- Send thank you email to top association folks for a great show.
Now that you have the full list, what other advice would you add? I’d love to hear your additional thoughts, or get in touch if you’ll be attending any industry events in 2012.
