This is the first of many partnerships with electrician/inventors that Madison Electric Products will be establishing, in a strategic effort by the company to bring the most innovative field-tested and field-created products to market.
“Madison Electric Products is extremely excited about our new partnership with Greg Herth and Smart Box,” says Brad Wiandt, president of Madison Electric Products. “Contractors and inventors like Greg are familiar with the daily challenges faced during residential, commercial or industrial installation. They create innovative solutions that are the foundation of Madison Electric Products’ history and the strength of its future.”
This is the Long Island-based electrician/inventor’s first partnership with a U.S. electrical products company. (Smart Box Inc. has had a partnership with Smart Box Canada Corporation since 2007.) Smart Box products were first patented by Greg Herth in 1997. Since then, he has been awarded nine additional U.S. patents.
“It is not easy for an inventor to bring his or her products to market,” says Herth, who invented his first product at age 16. “This is why a partnership between Smart Box Inc. and Madison Electric Products makes sense. In just six years, Smart Box Inc. has introduced 14 new products and established name-brand recognition as an innovative manufacturer of non-metallic device boxes. For over 80 years, Madison Electric Products has developed a distribution infrastructure that runs deep throughout the electrical wholesale industry and provides unmatched marketing experience. The assets of each company complement the other.”
